The following statement provides an outline of the foundational beliefs and concepts for all the activities of Breath of Life. It is a broad evangelical declaration and is not intended to overrule denominational distinctives. Rather, it is a means for evangelicals of varying denominations to unite in the central truths of Scripture and to communicate that truth to others. The Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. There is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God and man in one Person. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and vicariously atoned for sin through his shed blood and death on the cross. He was bodily resurrected from the dead, He ascended into heaven and will return in power and glory. Salvation is a gift of God, received only by faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells all true believers and enables them to live a Godly life. All people will be raised from the dead - believers to eternal life, unbelievers to eternal condemnation. All people are commanded by God to love him and to love each other. All believers are commissioned by God to be His witnesses in life, word and deed. Copyright 2002, Breath of Life.
